Xmas Card Photos

Flickr has changed it's coding around so last years posts are all messed up.
I don't think I can fix the problem but hopefully I can work around it.

Flickr and Blogger finally synced and now the pics work. What a mess that was!

I fixed all the code now and my previous blog posts are working now. Yay!

Christmas Cards

This year I had the pleasure of shooting and designing 2 families Christmas cards, as well as ours.

The first shoot was for a MOMS Club friend of mine. You'll remember Blake from his 2 yr old session this summer. While he really didn't want me to take his picture this time I did get a few cute shots of him and his brother Tyler.

The card was made using a few templates I downloaded from a photography forum I frequent. I ended up using elements from to different templates and making my own layout.

The next shoot was for my cousin Annette. I've been shooting for her little guy Cody since he was a newborn. Some shoots go well... others not so much lol. But I'm pleased to say this shoot was a success! I was afraid I wouldn't be able to live up to last year's shoot but we definitely got some good ones this time.

and finally there's our card:

and back. I used a bunch of different templates and embellishments on this one. Changed colors and textures and just went pretty crazy lol. I've gotten great responses from our friends and family and am pretty happy with all "my" cards this year. Maybe next year I'll pick up a few more customers ;)

Finally

I finally got the maternity shoot finished!

With us getting sick for nearly 3 weeks (what the?!) and then the car troubles and the refinancing of the house and the roof estimates and and and lol. Free time has been sporadic at best.

I don't have any other shoots lined up at the moment. Maybe I'll finally get Zoe's 2 yr portraits done??

another session complete

I'm not sure what's going on with the settings to this blog. It seems to be copying my settings I have for my craft blog... my internet is being too flakey to try and figure that out tonight.

I just finished editing the shots I took for a MOMS Club friend. Her son just turned 2 and she wanted some portraits done.

I think this one is my favorite of the set: It makes me thankful that I shoot in RAW. I got caught in the moment and this one would've been toast if I hadn't been able to adjust it with my RAW software. Of course like a true photographer I'm telling myself I meant to do it ;) What is art but a bunch of happy accidents right?

Now onto the maternity session I did this weekend. Fun times!

The Beginning

I've been slowly getting my feet wet with my photography business off and on for the past two years. I've done several sessions for various family members and am finally getting ready to charge relative strangers (gasp) for my services.

I started this blog in hopes of sharing some of my favorite shots from my sessions.

With that in mind here is a shot I took of our nephew during his recent session.

This is the first "formal" session I've done with him. It was a lot of fun and he is such a charming subject ;) So hard to believe he's already 4!

Here's hoping I can keep this blog updated... I haven't been very diligent with previous blogs.
